PULLMAN WINDOW WALK 2021: A Community Art Project

About the Project:
The aim of this project is to promote and provide visibility for local and regional artists and at the same time invigorate Downtown Pullman and enhance its vibrancy. Window Walk 2021 will build community through collaboration. Selected artists will be paired with Downtown Pullman businesses and properties, where their work will be displayed in storefront windows. There is no specific theme, but artworks should be display-ready for a non-gallery public environment and friendly to audiences of all ages. All artwork must comply with City of Pullman safety and noise ordinances.
There is no cost to businesses or to artists to participate. All sales inquiries will be directed to participating artists.
This project and all associated activities is organized and coordinated by the Pullman Arts Commission with support from the City of Pullman, Pullman Downtown Association, Pullman Chamber of Commerce, WSU’s Office of Student Involvement, Center for Civic Engagement and Department of Fine Arts.
Call To Artists: Juried Storefront Exhibition
The City of Pullman Arts Commission invites local and regional artists to participate in Window Walk 2021. The work of selected artists will be displayed in storefront windows of downtown Pullman businesses.
Deadline To Apply: March 10, 2021
Exhibition dates are April 3 – 28, 2021. Installation is scheduled for April 1 and 2.
Artists should submit (upload) samples of three (3) works of art or art installations that are representative of the work to be displayed. The number of works that may be displayed will be space-dependent. There is no fee to artists to apply or participate. All sales inquiries will be forwarded directly to participating artists.
Submissions can be for any 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional (including installation) or time-based artworks and must be display-ready. For example: 2D works are framed and/or have hanging devices; 3D works are presented on pedestals, if appropriate; artists working in time-based mediums should plan to provide any necessary projection equipment.
The number of works displayed by each artist will vary, depending on the storefront site, size and availability for display. All works should be available for display the entire length of the project.
Artists must be 18 or older to apply.
Personal information will not be shared or displayed.
• Artists will be notified of selection and placement by March 18, 2021
• Installation of selected works will take place April 1 – 2, 2021
• Artists should plan to pick up their artwork April 29 – 30, 2021
