Business of Art (BOA) Certificate
The Business of Art Certificate is open to all undergraduate majors. This program harnesses the skills and mindset of the entrepreneur to empower students interested in implementation of applied, innovative arts projects and prepares students to access careers that require skills in both business and art.
To complete the certificate, students must complete 15 credits consisting of two core courses and three additional electives with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Required core courses include one from FINE ART 102, 103, or 110; and ENTRP 490. Three additional electives should be drawn from ENTRP 426; ENTRP 489 or FIN 223; FINE ART 332, 340, or 350; and FA 363.
BOA Certificate Requirements

FA 102: 2D Art and Design OR FA 103: 3D Art and Design OR FA 110: Beginning Drawing And ENTRP 490 [M] Entrepreneurial Marketing
Choose 3:

ENTRP 426: Entrepreneurial Finance OR FIN 223 [QUAN] Personal Finance
FA 332: Introduction to Digital Media OR
FA 340: Ceramics OR

+ A minimum GPA of 2.0

Graphic Design Certificate
The Department of Fine Arts and the Digital Technology and Culture Program collaborated on a Graphic Design certificate for any student interested in learning more about image design.
To complete the certificate students must complete 15 credits consisting of two core courses and three additional electives with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Required core courses include FINE ART 102, and DTC 201. Three additional electives should be drawn from DTC 336; DTC 436, FINE ART 332; or FINE ART 433.
Graphic Design Certificate Requirements
There are two classes in the core of the certificate:
Fine Arts 102: 2D Art and Design
Digital Technology and Culture 201: Tools and Methods for Digital Technology
Then students should pick three of the class options below to complete the certificate:
FA 332: Introduction to Digital Media – Print and Web
DTC 336: Multimedia Design
FA 433: Design for Print
DTC 436: Advanced Multimedia Design
In addition, any student wishing to complete a certificate in Graphic Design will need to have a 2.0 GPA at WSU.
