Craig Cully: Visiting Artist
Opening Reception: WSU Gallery II, October 7. Reception held in the Fine Arts Atrium at 5pm
Artist Lecture: Fine Arts Auditorium, Wednesday October 7, at 6:00pm
For “Mingle” Cully has brought together two distinct bodies of work: portraiture and still life.
Cully produces gorgeous portrait paintings with self-authored narratives, exploring the awkward intimacies of human interpersonal relationships and the psychology of the self. Cully has recently expanded his oeuvre to include still life subjects rendered with intimate care and attention to the unique beauty of each subject.
This exhibition consists of small to medium sized images all painted with oil pigment on wood panel.
Craig Cully earned his BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA and his Masters degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is currently Assistant Professor at New Mexico State in Las Cruces.
